Due to the inclement weather this week we had very few reports, Kingfish and porgies are in and around the sore thumb area taking clam strips on the top of the flood. Fluking has been the same story in the bay, plenty of shorts with some keepers being taken. We still have some local spearing and local squid left. On the Weakfish scene, Ocean Beach seen some 16"-20" fish using bucktails tip off with squid strips and storm plastic baits in the bunker color. Shop regular Tim Sanchez and buddy Tony fished the West Bar on saturday with clam chum and salted skimmer clams the duo managed 5 Bass with 2 bass @ 28".

Suffolk Marine is having there annual fall Striped Bass Tournament on Sunday Oct.16th. For more details call the shop at (631)669-2222.

Snapper Derby

With last weeks storm hitting the northeast it had the fluke run for cover and the looks of things no one told them it's all clear to come out. Although a couple of shop regulars Angelo and Sean had some action at the coast guard station on the first of the outgoing. We also heard of some trigger fish and porgies at the sore thumb. The snapper fishing has been awesome at the Babylon Village Dock.
Saturday Sept 10th is the new date for the BTC Snapper derby at the Village dock.
